User Experience
The key benefit, and the main reason people choose a motorised solution, is the improvement to user experience. Having window blinds that can be raised and lowered with the touch of a button makes shading a room quickly very simple and user friendly. Multiple blinds can be opened and closed simultaneously to the same stop position with a single remote or switch, or they can be operated individually for a completely custom shading solution.

Motorised roller blinds come with more features than a standard manual blind that you might not even realise are available to you. For example, obstacle detection. Obstacle detection motors are able to detect when the hembar is meeting resistance and can stop the blind in its tracks, preventing damage to the blind. We’ve found that this is extremely beneficial in areas such as hotel rooms where often guests will leave their luggage or the cushions on the window sill near the bed. This means that when the guest tries to close the blind with the remote, a standard motor will just close onto the object on the sill which can cause damage to the hembar, fabric and even the motor.
Child Safe
Motorised roller blinds are also child safe. Manual roller blinds with a cord or chain can pose a safety risk in areas where small children have access. If you have an environment where children under the age of 42 months are present or likely to have access you must install blinds which are compliant with the child safety requirements imposed by the EU. Aesthetic Appeal
Motorised roller blinds also have better aesthetic appeal than a blind with a visible chain or crank handle. The motor is completely hidden in the fabric tube, and with the addition of a cassette, the only parts of the blind that will be visible are the fabric and hembar. Motorised rollers are also ideal for recessing into a blind box profile such as Blindspace. The roller, plus any additional cassette or side channels, can be completely hidden within the walls so that the window opening is clear when the blind is open. When the blind is closed all that will be visible is the fabric, which has a very clean and modern look.
