With the increasing demand for electric window shading, battery powered blinds and curtains have become more and more popular. Easy to setup and no wiring needed, battery motors are the simplest solution for motorised blinds.
We are able to offer a battery solution for all of our roller blind systems, from the smallest Orbis roller to the biggest KuroLok 100 Twin RL roof blind; and even on our Flow™ curtain track!
Rooflight Blinds
Our battery solution for rooflights is the latest addition to our range. This system comes with a 12v solar panel and battery pack, is RTS controlled and is quick to install thanks to the plug and play wiring system. This motor is powerful enough to operate roof blinds up to 18m² and can be commissioned simply with a remote control.
The system’s solar panel trickle charges the battery pack so it is constantly being supplied with power. The battery pack will only need topping up with the mains charger if the solar panel is in an area of low light (e.g. a north facing elevation) or there are prolonged periods of low light levels (e.g. winter months). This motor uses an external battery pack which makes charging and maintenance easy.
Roller Blinds
Battery powered roller blinds are getting more and more popular as more homeowners decide to upgrade their homes with automation. They are ideal for this as they can be retro-fitted into existing windows without the need for additional wiring.
Roller blinds powered with battery motors tend to be quiet and efficient, making them especially suitable for domestic residences. Our most popular battery motor is the Somfy Sonesse 30 WF RTS motor. This neat system has an internal battery pack and is easy to install. It can be controlled with a remote control or a wireless wall switch.
The Sonesse 30 WF motor can also be connected to the Somfy TaHoma hub which which can run time schedules, work with sensors for automated control and more.
Curtains
We even offer a battery motor with our Flow™ curtain track. Motorised curtain tracks are increasingly popular as they’re convenient and easy to operate, and the aesthetic of curtains makes the room look cosy and stylish.
This battery motor is RTS controlled and supports curtains up to 45kg. It’s easy to setup and has some really handy features such as ‘pull to start’, so all you need to do is gently tug the curtain and the motor will start.
This motor charges fully in approximately 3 hours, and with standard use it should be 9 months before it needs charging again, so it’s very low maintenance.
