Insect Roller Blinds: Screen Blinds for Bug Protection

Is there anything more irritating than opening your patio doors on a warm summer’s day to let in a cool breeze and being swarmed by insects? Or opening a kitchen window in the middle of winter and inviting in every moth from your garden?

Perhaps your standard blinds aren’t enough to keep them out, or you’ve tried a fly screen curtain for the back door but still your house is full of insects.

Let us break down your options

Umbra’s sideways pulling screening system by Centor is a revolutionary shading system that can be operated from any height with just a fingertip.

We are proud to be able to offer the Centor S2 and S4 systems, so there is a solution for any size and style of door.

The Centor S2 system with Flyscreen fabric

The S4 Screen and Shade enables homeowners with large door openings to enjoy the luxury of inside-outside living without the traditional compromises – insects, glare and loss of privacy.

The system is available as a single, double, combo or corner system and has a range of insect screen, sunscreen, light-filtering and blackout fabrics to choose from.

The S2 Insect Screen is perfect for smaller openings and can be fitted to the inside or outside of the door opening, so you can maximise inside-outside living to its full potential. It offers insect protection, fresh air, breezes and uninterrupted views. This is an insect screen only system.

On all Centor systems fabric is held securely in place by top and bottom zipper tabs, preventing screen blow-out even in a breeze. The fabric is fully retained within a frame on all sides to allow total control of insects, sunlight and privacy.

These screens can be operated from any height with one hand so even the youngest members of the family can operate the screen effortlessly.

This screen can be installed in a new build when the doors are being fitted, or easily retro-fitted to existing windows and doors with little fuss. The hardware can be Custom RAL coated to match any door colour or wall paint for a discreet look.

Windows

Our KuroLok system is perfect for this scenario. Not only does this system have zipped-edge side channels, but it can also be operated via chain, crank or motor. Even battery motors!

This system is by far the most effective solution for bug protection for your windows.

Specially designed ‘Fly Screen’ material held securely into side channels with zipped-edge technology. This stops the fabric from coming out of the side channels, even when there’s a window open behind the blind. This leaves no room for insects to get in through the side of the fabric.

Our favourite insect screen material that we use as standard is a neutral, modern grey colour with a small weave that will stop even the smallest bugs from getting in. It’s also extremely lightweight and it’s very affordable.

By the way, this fabric can also be used with our standard roller blinds such as Helios and Sirios if the cassetted blind isn’t your style. Just be aware that insects can sneak in through the gaps down the side of the fabric without side channels. Read all about our other blind systems here.
