Design Challenge
This project required a blackout system that would be easy to install within a ceiling pocket but still be accessible for maintenance. As there was no power to the windows, a wireless control option was required.
Solution
We supplied our KuroLok 100 blackout system for this project which can be installed like a ‘goalpost’. The system was put together on the floor and then lifted as a complete blind into the existing ceiling pocket for simple installation. The front cover of the KuroLok cassette can be opened within a 100mm pocket for easy access for maintenance. The hardware was powder coated to RAL 9022 to complement existing window frames. Crescent blackout fabric was chosen for total light blockage with a subtle, stylish fabric appearance. A combination of manual chain and Somfy Sonesse 30 WF battery motor operation blinds were supplied.
