Design Challenge

The windows in The National Library of Wales have very long drops of nearly 5m, so a system was required that could be made to these sizes. A cassetted system was also requested to achieve full a blackout so the headbox needed to be big enough to accommodate the fabric roll up.

Solution

We supplied our KuroLok 125 system which features a large 125mm headbox, which has enough room to mount all of the fabric required on these blinds with no issue. Our Spectrum 1010 PVC blackout fabric was chosen which is held in place by the zip-retention technology in the KuroLok side channels. Detachable crank handles were selected for easy operation and because they are inherently child-safe. We also supplied fabric panels in the same fabric as the blinds, which were used to upholster existing window facades for a cohesive look.
